COPYING DETAIL ELEMENTS FROM ONE FILE TO ANOTHER
Detail Elements can be copied from Revit detail in one model to a detail in another Revit model.
Unlike Model Elements and Views, Detail Elements can be pasted "Aligned to Current View" as long as the following are not included in the selection set:
If any of the above are included in the selection set, then the detail items will not be able to be pasted "Aligned" and will need to be manually placed.
Creating a Detail Group of the elements prior to copying them to the Clipboard is strongly recommended. This will make it much easier to make manual alignments to the View into which the elements are pasted.
